The doctors and nurses are happy to speak to patients by telephone, outside consulting times. Please leave your details with our reception staff and a doctor / nurse will return your call between surgeries.


Overnight, at weekends and bank holidays NHS Cambridgeshire has commissioned Herts Urgent Care to provide out of hours cover.  They can be contacted by ringing 111.


We offer ten minute appointments, and these can be made by telephone or in person throughout our opening hours of 8.30am to 6.00pm.


The Dispensary take telephone enquiries between the hours of 10am - 6pm. 


If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone as soon as possible to enable us to offer the appointment to someone else.


Please call 01223 810030 for test results between 10-6pm Monday-Friday.  Please allow one week for the results to be returned to us. 


We have a wheelchair here at the surgery which is available for patients to borrow for up to a maximum of one week. Just contact us and we will let you know if it 's available.


The practice uses a local company called CINTRA to provide a translation and interpreting service to our patients.  All of their interpreters specialise in at least one discipline i.e Health to ensure you get an accurate service.

If you require any of their services, you can contact Cintra to liaise with us, or if you are able to speak or write to our reception Team, we can call Cintra to organise a date and time for an appointment with you both at the surgery.


Most people develop one or more warts at some time in their life, usually before the age of 20. About 1 in 10 people in the UK has warts at any one time. They are not usually harmful.  There is no need to treat warts if they are not causing you any problems. Without treatment, about 3 in 10 warts have gone within 10 weeks, and most warts will have gone within 1-2 years, and leave no scar.   Clinicians at Bottisham Medical Practice do not usually treat verrucas but are happy to provide advice if required.  Alternatively, please see: for further information.


Addenbrookes Hospital Phlebotomy Team are now providing a drop in community phlebotomy service at the Pharmacy in Sainsbury's, Coldhams Lane.  It's available Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 10.30 am and 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm. 

Newmarket Hospital are now also providing a drop in phlebotomy service. You can visit them between 8am and 4pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 1pm on Fridays.

The national average for the GP to patient ratio is 1:1800 and greater in some areas.  Bottisham Medical Practice is pleased to be able to provide a GP to patient ratio of approx 1:1200 patients.

Mrs Rowena Pilsworth (f)

Rowena joined the practice in November 2014 as Office Manager, becoming Practice Business Manager in May 2017.

Rowena has responsibility for day to day patient services including reception and administration and is responsible for the strategic management and running of the practice.

Mrs Beverley Weller-Lewis

Beverley joined the practice in June 2014 with a wealth of General Practice experience including Dispensary Management. 

Beverley is responsible for the day to day running of the Dispensary. 


Barbara Emmerson
Barbara joined the team in 2006 as a Receptionist Part-Time, she is now our Senior Administrator at the practice. 
Helen Drake

Helen joined the practice as part of the Reception Team. Helen now works as Assistant to Practice Manager.


Kerry Elmer

Kerry is our Administrative Assistant and joined the practice in August 2010.  Kerry provides Part-Time Administrative support as well as Reception. 

Mairead Geaney (f)

Mairead joined the practice in March 2016.

Wendy Cornell

Wendy joined the practice in July 2016.

Lia Wilson (Apprentice)

Lia joined the practice in October 2016 as our Business Support Apprentice studying for an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

Demet jointed the Reception Team September 2017.

As well as working on reception, Janet is our Health Check assistant.

Patricia Smith
Patricia joined us in February 2014.  Patricia has worked in the NHS for many years and brings a lot of experience to Bottisham Medical Practice.  Patricia job shares a Medical Secretary position with Lynn and also provides data administration to the team.
Emma Styles

Emma joined the surgery part-time as part of the Reception team. Emma now works as a Medical Secretary along with Tricia.
